A simple method for roasting turkey for Thanksgiving using the spatchcock technique.

- 1 whole turkey (10–12 lbs)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
Instrukcje
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- Place the turkey breast-side down on a cutting board.
- Use kitchen shears to cut along each side of the backbone and remove it.
- Flip the turkey over and press down on the breast to flatten it.
- Rub olive oil all over the turkey.
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, and thyme.
- Place the turkey on a roasting pan, breast-side up.
- Roast in the oven for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
