- 1 whole pavo (turkey), 12-14 lbs
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
Instrukcje
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the giblets from the turkey cavity.
- In a bowl, mix softened butter with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.
- Rub the butter mixture all over the turkey.
- Place the onion, carrots, and celery inside the turkey cavity.
- Put the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the pan.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 2 hours.
- Remove the foil and roast for another hour, basting every 20 minutes.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
