- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks. Gradually add the cream mixture to yolks, whisking constantly.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat until it thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Cool the mixture to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.
- Churn in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
