- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
Instrukcje
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Pat the turkey dry and rub the butter all over it.
- Season the turkey with salt and pepper inside and out.
- Stuff the cavity with onion, carrots, celery, thyme, and rosemary.
- Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a pan.
- Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
- Roast the turkey for about 3-4 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
- The turkey is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
