- 250g mixed dried fruit
- 100g currants
- 100g sultanas
- 50g chopped nuts
- 100g brown sugar
- 200ml ale or stout
- 150g breadcrumbs
- 100g self-raising flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp mixed spice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 50g melted butter
Instrukcje
- Soak the mixed dried fruit, currants, and sultanas in ale overnight.
- Preheat the steamer and prepare the pudding basin.
- In a bowl, mix together the soaked fruits, nuts, sugar, breadcrumbs, flour, eggs, mixed spice, cinnamon, and melted butter.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared pudding basin.
- Cover with parchment paper and foil.
- Steam for about 6 hours, adding water as needed.
- Remove from the steamer and allow to cool.
- Store in a cool, dark place until ready to serve.
- Reheat by steaming for another 2 hours before serving.
- Serve with brandy sauce or cream.
